LONG BEACH, CA — The much-anticipated grand opening of Snoop Dogg’s new cannabis dispensary in Long Beach was postponed — with the announcement of the delay coming just a day before the planned event — due to safety concerns, according to the store.

“With expected attendance exceeding safe capacity, we've decided to postpone to ensure we deliver the experience the community deserves: safely, and in the right way,” the business, called S.W.E.D., said Friday in a statement posted on Instagram.

Snoop Dogg’s team cited to KTLA a shooting at the March 1 grand opening of Marathon Burger, which left one dead and two injured, the outlet reported, noting the burger franchise is connected to late rapper Nipsey Hussle.
