Gunfire Near Artesia Freeway Wounds Man
Police said the shooting possibly was gang-related.

LONG BEACH, CA – A man was wounded Monday in a possible gang-related shooting in Long Beach, police said.
The victim told police that he was shot near the Artesia (91) Freeway, said Arantxa Chavarria of the Long Beach Police Department.
"About 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a gunshot victim who had come into the emergency room on his own," Chavarria said. "When officers arrived, they interviewed the male adult victim who indicated the shooting occurred near the 91 Freeway, but (he) would not provide any additional details."

The man was treated for an injury described as not life-threatening, Chavarria said. The shooting may have been gang-related, Chavarria said.
