Hotel Maya To Celebrate ‘Dia de Los Muertos’ With Two Live Bands
The holiday celebrates death and honors the departed with Hotel Maya offering live bands, Taco Cart, Street Corn Station and Drink Specials

The guests of honor are dying to be celebrated at Hotel Maya’s ‘Dia de Los Muertos’ party in Fuego on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5-9 p.m.
The annual celebration for the dead began more than 3,000 years ago by the Aztecs to commemorate the life of a loved one’s passing and encourage the return of the spirit for honoring.
Hotel Maya will mark the Mexican holiday of rejoicing the dead with a traditional and artistic altar set up in Fuego as guests, employees and community members are encouraged to bring artifacts to remember passed loved ones.

The “Dia de Los Muertos” party will also feature a variety of drink and food specials and live music throughout the evening to include:
- Live music by the Susie Hansen Latin Band alternating with Mariachi music from 5-9 p.m.

- A unique Sugar Skull Face Painting artist will provide guests with authentic Mexican designs, free.
- Fuego Street Corn Station featuring Elote Callejero, a traditional Mexican grilled corn on the cobb and covered in a special mayonnaise, cotija, tajin and chili sauce, $5.
- Fuego Taco Cart with Cilantro Jalapeno Carne Asada, Cilantro Lime Chicken and Mahi-Mahi with fire roasted salsa, mango pico de gallo and jalapeno cream, $4.
- Fuego Fresh Chips and Salsa station with fired roasted salsa, and salsa brava, free.
- Day of the Dead sweet treats including Pan de Muerto, Churros with caramel sauce, Empanadas de crema, Pineapple upside down cake and Buñuelos.
- El Jimador Tequila samplings, free.
- Fuego specialty margaritas, $6, and all Mexican beers, $4.
“It will be a party to celebrate the dead as Fuego presents traditional Mexican culture with live Salsa and Mariachi music along with authentic food and drink specials. It will be an evening of ceremonial reverence and familial festivities,” said Jason Cervantes, Director of Restaurants at Hotel Maya - a DoubleTree by Hilton. “Fuego will also display a beautiful altar prepared to honor passed loved ones of our own guests and employees.”
