“All three candidates have the business acumen and self-motivation that the Chamber PAC looks for when endorsing candidates,” said Jeremy Harris, President & CEO, Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “Their commitment to growing business, strong leadership and community engagement will benefit Long Beach for years to come as we navigate uncharted economic times and overcome challenging social issues.”

Allen was raised and attended school in Long Beach, is a 10-year retired Long Beach Police Officer and business entrepreneur starting and operating several small businesses in downtown Long Beach. Recently reappointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn, she now serves on the Los Angeles County Small Business Commission.

“I am so proud to receive the endorsement of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Helping businesses is important to me, and I want to make sure that they have all the resources available to navigate through these uncertain times,” said 2nd District Candidate Allen. “I will advocate for the most economically flexible and robust policies so that people can safely get back to work. This will take courage to lead through this economic recovery, and I have shown that I have the experience to help businesses thrive.”

For well over a decade, Austin has been a regional leader for working families, delivering results on transportation, economic development, and sustainable planning. He earned the trust of his neighbors in Long Beach and was elected to the City Council in 2012 and re-elected in 2016.
