During a recent ceremony at Roosevelt Elementary School, Long Beach Councilwoman Mary Zendejas presented certificates on behalf of the City of Long Beach to the LBUSD student winners of the 2021 Migrant Education Program Speech Tournament. The middle and high school students also received their official medals and trophies from the Los Angeles County of Education Migrant Education Program.

Middle and high school students here won multiple tournament trophies. The event was the LBUSD program’s first competitive tournament and the most wins for any school district in Los Angeles County this year. The winning students include: 

Prepared Speech – first place, Fatima Guiterrez of Washington; Ariana Torres-Carbajal of Wilson. Second place, Anthony Magaña-Perez of Wilson; Evelin Ramirez of Wilson. Third place, Sabina Neri of CAMS; Melany Regalado of Wilson.
