Long Beach Burger Week Returns With $10 Burgers, Wagyu, PB&J

LONG BEACH, CA — From a $10 truffle burger to a $25 queso fundido creation — and even a $5 burger for the dog — Long Beach Burger Week is underway.

The sixth annual event began Sunday and runs through Sept. 20, with more than 20 businesses offering specially priced burgers and bundles across the city.

Organizers say Long Beach Burger Week is intended to support local restaurants, food trucks and pop-ups, with dine-in, takeout and delivery options varying by business.

Burgers Starting At $10

Among the least-expensive specials currently listed is The Win-Dow's $10 Double Crunch Burger.

EggBred is offering a $10 Truffle Crunch Burger made with Angus beef, sharp cheddar, arugula, white truffle spread, crispy fried onions and smoked jalapeño ketchup.

Crack Burgers' $10 Ortega Burger comes with green chile, pepper jack cheese, tomato jam and chipotle sauce, while DOGZ Bar & Grill has a $10 DOGZ Burger featuring a one-third-pound Angus beef patty, vegetables, Thousand Island dressing and cheese on a Hawaiian bun.

The event is advertised as featuring burgers and bundles priced from $5 to $25, although the Burger Week website had not listed a $5 burger for people as of Monday morning. Its $5 menu remained marked “coming soon.”

Wagyu, Chorizo And Vegan Options

At the $15 level, The Kroft is serving a Pastrami Wagyu Smash Burger with two Wagyu patties, Swiss cheese, brisket pastrami, coleslaw and Russian dressing on a toasted brioche bun.

Marathon Burger has several $15 options, including a Wagyu burger, grilled portobello mushroom burger and a vegan burger with a patty made from wild rice and potatoes. Each comes with a complimentary lemonade during Burger Week.

Altar Brewing's $15 Chorizo Smash Burger combines Angus beef with chorizo, Jack cheese, caramelized onions, maple butter and chipotle aioli, while Black Pork's Black Burger includes bacon, cheddar, pickles and other toppings on black brioche.

Breakfast — And Peanut Butter And Jelly

Things become somewhat less conventional at $20.

The Breakfast Bar's Breakfast Burger combines two smashed beef patties with a fried egg, American cheese, grilled onion and a potato pancake, along with Thousand Island dressing and the restaurant's maple-and-spice-coated “Pig Candy” bacon.

ISM Brewing's Fiorentino features a 5-ounce beef patty topped with griddled mortadella and a cabbage salad with pistachios, lemon oil and Dijon.

And Jimmy E's Bar & Grill is offering an exclusive PBB + J Burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, peanut butter and jelly. The $20 deal includes fries and either a beer or soft drink.

At the top of the advertised price range, Parkers' Lighthouse has a $25 Queso Fundido Burger featuring a half-pound Angus beef patty with Oaxacan queso fundido, chorizo bacon, guacamole and pico de gallo on brioche.

Don't Forget The Dog

Burger Week even includes a $5 menu for four-legged customers. ISM Brewing is offering a Puppy Patty, while Jimmy E's $5 pup menu includes a choice of grilled chicken or a hamburger patty served with brown rice.
