Long Beach Murder Suspect In Custody
Richard Anthony Meza allegedly shot and Jose William Ortiz Marin, 33, of Long Beach in February, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was in custody Friday for allegedly killing another man in Long Beach in February, authorities said.
Richard Anthony Meza, 32, was taken into custody on Thursday in Pomona and booked on suspicion of murder, the Long Beach Police Department reported. He was being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
Meza allegedly shot Jose William Ortiz Marin, 33, of Long Beach about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 28 in the 1000 block of Norman Court. Marin died at the scene, police said.

Meza also allegedly committed an unrelated assault with a deadly weapon last Oct. 23 near 10th Street and Orange Avenue, police said.
