Long Beach Police Make Arrest, Tow Vehicles Following Street Takeovers
Three cars were towed, 11 drivers were cited, and an arrest was made between March 20-23 in Long Beach, police say, due to street takeovers.
LONG BEACH, CA — Three cars were towed, 11 drivers were cited, and one arrest was made between March 20-23 due to street takeover events, Long Beach Police say.
"There were multiple illegal street takeover incidents in the City of Long Beach and throughout the region, posing significant safety risks and disrupting the community," a police spokesperson said. "As part of a coordinated enforcement effort, officers responded swiftly, taking enforcement action."
The arrested person was identified as Kristopher Scott Molick, who was booked for pedestrian failing to yield the right of way to traffic, obstructing a peace officer, illegal possession of fireworks without a permit, and an unregistered vehicle.

He was released on his own recognizance, according to the LBPD.
The 11 citations issued were for vehicle code violations, police said.

"I want to make clear that the Long Beach Police Department will not tolerate illegal motor vehicle exhibitions," LBPD Chief Wally Hebeish said. "We will continue to cite, arrest, and/or seize the vehicles of those who choose to participate in these gatherings and associated crimes.”
