Loose Leaf Boba Company Opens In Downtown Long Beach

Located at The Streets on Promenade North near the corner of 3rd Street; guests can enjoy two hours of free parking at adjacent structures

Loose Leaf Boba Company officially opens at The Streets in Downtown Long Beach on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Long Beach, Calif. A highlight of the event was a traditional Chinese Lion Dance for a Grand Opening Blessing immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony. Joining the ribbon-cutting celebration was from left, Catherine Morris, Vice President of William Morris Commercial; Austin Metoyer, Research & Policy Manager at Downtown Long Beach Alliance; Thomas Liu and Jasmine Yip, owners of Loose Leaf Boba Company; and Cameron Andrews, Representative of Shooshani Developers and owners of The Streets.

Loose Leaf Boba Company wants to change the way people view boba and tea. Their mission is to bring the world closer with one cup at a time and one person at a time by providing a cultural experience to remember. It’s their goal to spark change in the human spirit in how to view the different cultures in this ever-changing, diverse, and interconnected world.

“I see great potential in this space at The Streets. There’s a lot of development in this area. I selected this location because it’s a diverse neighborhood and I wanted to use my drinks to bring people together, a way of bringing different cultures together and sharing what we have,” said Thomas Liu, owner of Loose Leaf Boba Company. “No matter where a person is from or what their beliefs are, there’s always one thing in common and that’s food and drinks.”

Loose Leaf Boba Company sets itself apart as it strives for real quality ingredients in their drinks, unlike conventional boba teahouses where artificial powders and syrups are used. They do not use powdered milk teas or artificial non-dairy creamer powders. They only source the best milks for their milk teas such as Strauss Family Milk Products and Califia Farm Plant Based Milks. They also only use real fruits and real sugar in their drinks.

The Loose Leaf Boba Company business motto is to provide guests with the best drinks they can offer while “Keepin’ It Real.”

“Loose Leaf Boba Company is a fresh new concept in a traditional segment of boba and teas. Their presence further diversifies the selection of restaurants and retail at The Streets and in Downtown Long Beach,” said Tony Shooshani, Managing Member of Shooshani Developers and owners of The Streets. “This six-block area in the Downtown area is growing organically with several micro-destinations now thriving within the shopping center.”

Loose Leaf Boba Company’s arrival compliments the recent openings of neighboring AMMATOLI, Burgerim, The ThickShake Factory, Poki Cat and Table 301, along with the soon to open Portuguese Bend Distillery.
