Man Shot, Killed In Alleyway Near Downtown Long Beach
LBPD officers are searching for the person who shot the victim multiple times, resulting in his death.
LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot multiple times and killed in an alleyway near Downtown Long Beach on Thursday, the Long Beach Police Department said.
Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue after receiving reports of multiple gunshots heard in the area and a person down in the alleyway. Officers found the man with multiple gunshot wounds in his upper body and rendered aid.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

Upon investigation, detectives determined that an unknown male suspect approached the victim in the alley and proceeded to fire at him, resulting in his death. the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
