Man Shot, Killed In Long Beach
The Long Beach Police Department sought the public's help with a murder investigation for an incident that occurred on Jan. 8.
LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot and killed in Long Beach near Drake Park on Sunday according to the Long Beach Police Department.
LBPD officers responded to the 900 block of Daisy Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting in the area at 9:54 p.m. Upon arrival officers found Jaevion Tasby, 30 of Long Beach, with a gunshot wound on his upper body and rendered aid.
Long Beach Fire Department transported Tasby to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Upon further investigation, Homicide detectives determined that the suspect approached Tasby as he was walking down the street and filed multiple gunshots toward him. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
Investigators are working to determine the motive for the shooting and said they believe the incident wasn't random.
