Update: Man Killed Near 10th Street and Linden Avenue Is Identified

The shooting is being investigated as gang-related, according to Long Beach police.

Update, 4:40 p.m.: The victim of a fatal shooting near 10th Street and Linden Avenue has been identified as 23-year-old Brian Johnson Dailey of Long Beach, police say.

Dailey was shot in the upper torso Friday and the incident is being investigated as gang-related, according to police.

Update, 8:30 a.m., Sunday: A man who was shot in Long Beach died Saturday, police officials said.

Officers responding about 10:15 p.m. Friday to a call of shots fired near 10th Street and Linden Avenue found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, said Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries this morning, she said.

 

Previous story: Police Saturday were investigating a shooting that wounded a man in Long Beach.

Officers responding around 10:15 p.m. Friday to a call of shots fired in the area of 10th Street and Linden Avenue found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, said Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, she said.
