LONG BEACH, CA — A man was wounded Tuesday in an early morning shooting near a Long Beach fast food restaurant.

Officers were sent about 2:50 a.m. to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street, near a McDonald's restaurant, to investigate a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, the officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition, police said.

Authorities provided no description of the wounded man, and no information about a suspect was immediately available.

The motive and circumstances of the shooting are under investigation, according to police.
