Metro Blue Line Experiencing Delays, Trains Moving Slower

LONG BEACH, CA – Metro Blue Line service was expected to experience delays of about 20-25 minutes Tuesday due to a problem with signals at intersections, authorities said, between downtown Long Beach and the South Los Angeles area. The problem developed about 6:25 a.m. and is affecting rail service as far north as the Blue Line's Washington Station at Washington and Long Beach boulevards, said Rick Jager of Metro.

Until the problem is corrected, the trains will have to travel slower than 30 mph, and will have to stop at all intersections before proceeding through them safely, Jager said.
