Missing Long Beach Man Found Dead in San Bernardino

Lloyd Thompson apparently died of natural causes, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA -- An 81-year-old Long Beach man who had been reported missing and whose vehicle was found abandoned in San Bernardino County was found dead of apparent natural causes, police said Friday.

Lloyd Thompson was last seen Monday morning at his home in the 2100 block of Lime Avenue, and his family reported him missing Wednesday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

On Wednesday night, his vehicle was found abandoned in a rural area near Interstate 15 and Glen Helen Parkway.

On Friday, Long Beach police were notified by officials in San Bernardino County that Thompson had been found dead Thursday night by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue personnel near where his vehicle had been found.

"His death appears to be of natural causes," according to Long Beach police.
