Mom-Daughter Duo Allegedly Steal Dog From Elderly Man
A 72-year-old man was walking his 3-year-old terrier mix when the pair allegedly pushed him over and ran off with his dog.
LONG BEACH, CA — A woman and her mother were charged with stealing a dog from a 72-year-old man in Long Beach last month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Erika Juarez Trujillo, 23, and Patricia Juarez, 50, both of South Gate, were charged with one felony each of second-degree robbery and elder abuse, the press release said.
The victim was walking the 3-year-old Maltese-Yorkshire terrier mix when Trujillo allegedly pushed him, grabbed the dog and fled in a car driven by Juarez, prosecutors said.

Both pleaded not guilty Wednesday and are scheduled to return May 28 for a pre-hearing conference. If convicted as charged, the women face a possible maximum sentence of six years in state prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.
The case remains under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
