Pedestrian Who Was Killed While Crossing Street In Long Beach Identified
A woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking across a Long Beach street recently has been identified by authorities.
LONG BEACH, CA — A woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking across a Long Beach street has been identified by authorities.
The victim, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office, is 49-year-old Heaven Hooper.
The crash was reported at about 3:55 a.m. Sunday. Officers were dispatched to the area of Ninth Street and Fashion Avenue. When they arrived on scene, Long Beach Fire Department personnel were rendering medical aid to the woman, police said.

Hooper was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
``The preliminary investigation indicates a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Ninth Street when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway outside of a crosswalk,'' according to an LBPD statement. "The Toyota Tacoma
fled the scene.''
