Police Investigate Stabbing Near Traffic Circle

LONG BEACH, CA — A man suffered non-fatal wounds after he was stabbed from behind while walking near the traffic circle Wednesday night, according to Long Beach Police.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Coronado Avenue at 7:18 p.m. and found the victim who said the assailant approached him from behind, stabbed him in his upper body and then fled the scene before officers arrived.

The man was transported to a local hospital to treat his injuries.

Officers said the investigation is ongoing and the motive for the stabbing is unknown. No physical description was given for the suspect.
