More than 1300 Participate in Annual Event
Over 1,300 people of all abilities came out to run, walk, stroll and roll at Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach in October at Easterseals Southern California's “Strides for Disability” timed 5K Run & 3K Family Fun Walk.
After a 15-year stint under the name “Walk With Me” the event was re-launched in 2016 as “Strides for Disability” a dynamic celebration of diversity bringing the community together to raise awareness and funds to support Easterseals’ services for children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
Bringing its largest crowd to date, the 2016 event raised $95,000 day-of event, and with the addition of dollars raised from other Strides fundraising activities such as the Easterseals RSP Golf Tournament and CVS Pharmacy campaign, the total has grown to over $340,000 towards making profound, positive differences in people’s lives every day and helping them achieve greater levels of independence.
