With council districts 1, 6, 8, and 9 seeing an uptick in crime and shootings, there’s a new item on the meeting agenda tonight. Also, would you like to meet a cop and have a conversation when the proverbial substance isn’t hitting the proverbial convenience? Finally, 800 triathletes were an awesome sight on Alamitos Beach!

- Council Members Zendejas, Saro, and Richardson approved the City Manager’s Tuesday meeting agenda item for a “Safety Recovery Plan.” This proposal comes on the heels of increased crime and shootings, particularly in council districts 1, 6, 8, and 9. (LBReport.com)
- Do you want to get to know the police officers in your neighborhood? Coffee with a Cop is a program that provides a casual setting for a meet-and-greet, questions, and concerns. Next Tuesday, there will be officers from the LBPD West Division at the Starbucks on 281 East Willow Street from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (@LBPDWest)
- The second Toyota Legacy Triathlon brought more than 800 triathletes to Alamitos Beach on Saturday. It is the second run of the event and brings attention to the location that the City has set aside for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, 2028. (Team USA)
- As of Saturday, South Patrol Division officers are back at the Public Safety Building at 400 West Broadway. They spent the last year at West Patrol Division sub-station to be out of the way during parking structure construction. (City of LB)
