Sex Assault Caught On Camera, Long Beach Police Fear More Victims
The brutal early-morning attack was captured on video and police are urging other potential victims to come forward.
LONG BEACH, CA — Police on Wednesday asked for additional victims to come forward after a 29-year-old homeless man was arrested on suspicion of attacking and sexually assaulting a woman this week.
The assault occurred around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near Alamitos Avenue and Fourth Street. Police say the suspect, Alvin Marba, attacked the woman until she lost consciousness and then sexually assaulted her, the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement.
Officers obtained security footage of the attack and found Marba Tuesday afternoon near Fourth Street and Cherry Avenue and took him into custody, police said.

Marba was arrested on suspicion of rape, assault with intent to rape, and assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $100,000, police said.
"This alarming criminal act is deeply concerning, and the response of our officers and detectives underscores LBPD's commitment to identifying and arresting individuals responsible for harming others," Police Chief Wally Hebeish said in a statement. "The work of the responding officers and handling detectives, coupled with our strategic use of technology and security video, allowed us to swiftly identify and arrest the suspect believed to be responsible for this heinous sexual assault."

Detectives released a photo of Marba and asked any potential other victims to come forward.
