Shooting In Long Beach Under Investigation

A man was hospitalized after he was shot early Friday morning in Long Beach.

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that hospitalized a man early Friday morning.

The Long Beach Police Department responded to the area of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found paramedics treating a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his upper body.

Fire Department paramedics took the man to a local hospital to continue treating his injury.

"Officers located a crime scene. The victim was uncooperative," LBPD said in a statement.

Investigation into the motive and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation. Police are also investigating to identify a possible suspect.
