Man Stabbed On Metro Blue Line In Long Beach, Suspect Detained

A suspect has been detained after a man was stabbed on the Metro Blue Line in Long Beach: BREAKING

LONG BEACH, CA – A stabbing has been reported on the Metro Blue Line in Long Beach. Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched at approximately 12:50 p.m. to the Metro Rail Anaheim Station in the 1200 block of Long Beach Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found a male adult victim with a stab wound to the upper torso, according to Sergeant Brad Johnson of LBPD, and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department in serious condition. Witnesses pointed out a possible male adult suspect located in the area of E. Anaheim Street and Locust Ave. who was contacted by officers and is currently being detained. The suspect that was detained has been positively identified and has been arrested.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time, Johnson said, and it is unknown whether or not the incident was gang related. The investigation is ongoing.
