Teen Arrested In Connection With Murder Of 19-Year-Old In Long Beach

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a man inside a home in Long Beach.

LONG BEACH, CA — A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man inside a home in Long Beach, police said Saturday.

Officers were responded at 3:22 p.m. Friday to the 3100 block of West Spring Street after receiving calls about a shooting. Arriving police found Louis Longeno of Maywood suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Longeno was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Patrol officers determined that a suspect was inside a nearby residence. Soon after, officers set up a perimeter and requested a SWAT team. The suspect later turned up outside the perimeter and surrendered himself to the police station.

He was booked at 6:13 p.m. into the Long Beach City Jail on suspicion of one count of murder. He's being held without bail.
