Teen Suspected Of Killing 32-Year-Old In Long Beach

An 18-year-old was arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 32-year-old man in Long beach.

LONG BEACH, CA — An 18-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in connection to the shooting death of a man in Long Beach, police announced.

The shooting happened on Dec. 10, 2024 in the 900 block of Via Carmelitos in Long Beach. Police responded to the scene to find 32-year-old Dwayne Walton with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Fire department paramedics declared Walton dead at the scene.

Detectives investigating the case identified the suspect as Mario Amarion Jennings, an 18-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga. On Thursday, detectives and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department SWAT team arrested Jennings.

The motive and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation, LBPD said.
