Third Annual 'Elegance in Pride' Event Coming To Downtown Long Beach

On May 12, nonprofit Affluent Hispanic Philanthropies puts on its annual Elegance in Pride, an outdoor Pride celebration in Long Beach.

LONG BEACH, CA — On May 12, the nonprofit Affluent Hispanic Philanthropies will host the annual Elegance in Pride event, an outdoor Pride celebration in Long Beach.

The celebration is a 21-and-over event bringing together fashion, Latin music, drag performances, and culinary tastings in downtown Long Beach and is set for 6 pm-9:30 pm Tuesday, May 12 at Onni East Village, 330 E. Third St.

The event supports the organization’s Power of Love Initiative, which advocates for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and community empowerment.

Among the scheduled performers and performances are:

  • South Coast Chorale, The LGBTQ Chorus of Long Beach
  • Latin ensemble cumbia by Cello Azul and The Psychedelic Orchestra
  • Timeless classics from Bread & Butter, led by Paul Muñoz
    Salsa showcase by A&J Dance Studio
  • A drag performance by Sweet Tea from WeHo

Additionally, throughout the evening, feature sets are scheduled by DJ Joy and DJ Jay-Tunez.

Guests will be able to enjoy gourmet tastings from a selection of local culinary partners at the Taste of Pride, including Telefèric Barcelona, Alli Kaphiy by Mikhuna, La Chancla Mexican Grill, Taco Shore, El Viejón Mariscos & Sushi, Panama International Restaurant, Paderia Bakehouse, The Pin-Up Kitchen, Chef Glenda Galván-García, and other restaurants.

Also available will be creative drink tastings from Seis Soles Wine Co., Mezcal Charla and Estrella Damm.
