Watch: Good Samaritans Save Family From Sinking Car In Long Beach
A woman, her son, and their dog were in the car when it plunged through a guardrail and into the marina.
LONG BEACH, CA – Bystanders jumped into the water to help rescue a mother, her son and their dog after the driver crashed their pickup truck through a guardrail at the marina in Long Beach. The car plunged into the water and quickly began to fill up with the trio inside.
Long Beach Fire Department Capt. Jeff Jones said the incident occurred about 1 p.m. Saturday when a pickup truck went “blasting” into the water from a parking lot near a dock in Long Beach.
The car was rapidly filling up with water when Jeff Perez and a few other Good Samaritans jumped in to help save the family, as seen on security video from Seacoast Yachts.

No one was injured in the incident, and officials told ABC7 that they don't suspect a DUI, they believe the elderly driver just made a mistake.
The couple was treated at the scene and eventually released, according to a Long Beach Fire Department Tweet after the incident.

LBFD Lifeguard units responded to reports of a submerged vehicle just after 1pm today. LIfeguard and vessel assist personnel arrived and made water entry and extricated an elderly couple from the vehicle. Couple was treated on scene and released.
