LOS ANGELES, CA — An unresponsive person was hospitalized Thursday in unknown condition following a possible shooting attack on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in the West Athens area.
Officers responded at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday to reports of a stalled vehicle on the eastbound 105 Freeway near Vermont Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Responding officers found an unresponsive person slumped over the wheel. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and took the person to a hospital.
It was unclear what type of injury the person suffered, but the right- side rear window of the vehicle was apparently shattered, an indication of a possible shooting.
CHP officials said the case was being investigated as possible highway violence.
The three far-left lanes of the eastbound 105 Freeway were closed just west of Vermont Avenue while authorities conducted an investigation. The closure caused a backup of traffic stretching west to the San Diego (405) Freeway.
