LOS ANGELES, CA — Soccer fans who haven't yet nabbed tickets for the World Cup matches in Los Angeles this summer will have another chance to do so on Wednesday.
FIFA is opening up another ticket-buying window at 8 a.m. PT Wednesday as part of its "Last-Minute Sales Phase." When Wednesday's sale opens, tickets will be available in categories 1, 2 and 3, as well as the front-row category which was added earlier this month.
The new category sparked online complaints from fans who said they thought the better seats in the categories they had bought tickets for were withheld and they were assigned less favorable locations.
FIFA in December put tickets on sale at prices ranging from $140 for Category 3 in the first round to $8,680 for the final, then raised prices to as much as $10,990 when sales reopened on April 1.
Additional tickets will be released through July 19, according to FIFA.
More than 5 million tickets have been sold so far.
The 2026 World Cup begins in June across sixteen cities in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
Los Angeles will host eight matches at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, beginning with the opening match for the U.S. on June 12.
Ticket sales are lagging for the opener, against Paraguay. Some 41,000 tickets had ben sold for that game. The stadium's capacity is nearly 70,000, the Athletic reported.
During FIFA's December ticket drop, the lowest-price tickets for that match were $1,120.
