Boy, 15, Shot To Death; Teen Suspect In Custody: LASD

The 15-year-old was killed in a shooting Friday night.

BELL, CA — A teenager in South Gate has been detained as a person of interest in connection with the gang-related shooting death of a 15-year- old boy in Bell, authorities said Saturday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded at 5:01p.m. Friday to the 6300 block Alamo Avenue, one block north of Gage Avenue, regarding a shooting, said sheriff's homicide Lt. Michael Modica.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.

South Gate police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle allegedly used in the homicide shortly after midnight, the Sheriff's Information Bureau reported. The teenager was detained and transported to the Bell Police Department.
