Former 'Reality TV Villain' Spencer Pratt Becomes The Hero In Viral AI Mayoral Campaign Ad

LOS ANGELES, CA — On one side, there's Mayor Karen Bass as the Joker, a vodka-chugging Kamala Harris and Gov. Gavin Newsom, eating a slice of cake, channeling Marie Antoinette. On the other side there's mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt as Batman.

That's the cast of characters in an AI-created advertisement supporting Pratt's campaign that went viral this week and is earning high praise from conservatives.

Pratt, a former star on MTV's "The Hills" who was once voted "Greatest Reality TV Villain," takes his turn as the hero in the ad, which shows citizens pleading before California's current leaders to fix issues like homelessness, wildfire recovery and crime.

Prominent conservative YouTuber Benny Johnson called it "the best political ad I've ever seen." Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said it was “maybe the best political ad of the year.”

The ad was created by AI filmmaker Charlie Curran, whose previous spoof videos have attracted tens of millions of views since he started posting them in January, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Pratt did not commission the ad, the Spectator reported. The candidate did, however, reposted the video on X.

Pratt, who lost his home in the Palisades Fire, is one of the frontrunners in a field of over a dozen candidates running against Bass, who is seeking reelection to a second term. He has positioned himself as a fierce critic of Bass and a political outsider.
