Delta Scraps Drink Service On Flights From Some CA Airports

Passengers flying on some Delta Air Lines flights departing from California airports will no longer be served snacks and drinks.

On Tuesday, Delta will end its free snack and beverage service for economy passengers on flights of less than 350 miles, the New York Times reported.

Previously, passengers on flights of less than 250 miles were not served refreshments.

The change will impact several flights within California, such as those between Los Angeles and San Francisco, KTLA reported.

About 9% of Delta's daily flights will not have refreshment service due to the change. But Delta is also adding full beverage and snack service to other flights that previously did not have such service, the Times reported.

Previously, some flights under 500 miles received a more limited service with fewer drink and snack options. Starting Tuesday, economy passengers on flights of 350 miles or more will be offered a full selection of food and beverages.

"Delta is adjusting onboard beverage service to create a more consistent experience across our network," a spokesperson told Fox Business.

First class passengers will continue to receive full service.
