Fire Breaks Out In Mountains Above San Gabriel Valley

A fire broke out in the Angeles National Forest on Monday afternoon.

A brush fire broke out in the San Gabriel Mountains Monday afternoon.

The fire, dubbed the Burro Fire, broke out just north of the San Gabriel Reservoir and was first reported at around 1:30 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

That location is in the mountains due north of the San Gabriel Valley city of Glendora.

The fire was reported to be 30 acres as of 1:30 p.m.

An evacuation warning was issued for the wilderness area immediately around the fire. No evacuation warnings or order have been issued for urban areas.

Several fires were burning in Southern California on Monday afternoon, including the Sandy Fire in Simi Valley, where tens of thousands of people were evacuated.
