Macy Fire Breaks Out In Antelope Valley

The brush fire broke out in the Antelope Valley Friday afternoon.

A brush fire broke out in a rural part of the Antelope Valley Friday afternoon.

The fire, dubbed the Macy Fire, was first reported at around 2:45 p.m. near Highway 138 and North 110th Street West in the Antelope Acres area.

As of 3 p.m., the fire was estimated to be about 100 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

A third alarm was requested at 3:18 p.m, when the fire was reported at approximately 660 acres, according to fire officials.

Shelter in place orders were issued for an area bounded by the 14 Freeway to the east, West Avenue D to the south, 170th Street West to the west and West Avenue A to the north as of 3:30 p.m.

The fire was burning in a rural area in the northwest Antelope Valley, about 10 miles from Lancaster.
