LOS ANGELES, CA — Metro and public radio station KCRW announced Monday a collaboration designed to bring Los Angeles music to transit riders through a series of DJ-curated playlists available on buses and trains throughout the region.

The program, called "Soundtrips," features four playlists created by KCRW DJs Novena Carmel, SiLVA, Ale Cohen and Wyldeflower. The playlists are available through QR codes posted throughout the Metro system and online through Metro Art and KCRW.

"As the region welcomes fans this summer for FIFA World Cup 2026, Metro Art's unique Soundtrips collaboration with KCRW gives transit riders a local perspective on the global sounds of Los Angeles as they're traveling through the region," Metro said in a statement.

According to Metro, each playlist is intended to reflect a different aspect of Los Angeles' musical culture and global influences.

Novena Carmel's mix focuses on funk, soul and R&B, while SiLVA's playlist features house, disco and dance music. Ale Cohen's collection highlights ambient, experimental and modern classical sounds, and Wyldeflower's playlist draws on global rhythms and local influences.

"Soundtrips" is the latest offering from Metro Art, the agency's arts and cultural program, which incorporates visual art, performances and other creative projects throughout the transit system.

The playlists have been released sequentially, according to the agency.
