NEENACH, CA — A brush fire broke out in the Antelope Valley community of Neenach Wednesday morning, drawing a large air and ground response and evacuation warnings.
The blaze, dubbed the Bella Fire, was reported around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 265th Street West and Avenue B 8 in Neenach, along state Route 138 near the Kern County line, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. That location is about 30 miles northeast of Lancaster.
The fire went to a second alarm just after 10 a.m.
Structures were threatened and evacuation warnings and orders were issued as crews worked to get a handle on the blaze.
The fire had burned about 80 acres as of 10:40 a.m., according to Cal Fire.
Forward progress of the fire was stopped before 11 a.m., when the fire had burned about 120 acres, KHTS reported.
