LOS ANGELES, CA — A "mass casualty traffic collision" on the 210 freeway left one dead and 32 injured in Irwindale Saturday, fire officials said.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash took place just before 9 a.m. west of of Irwindale Avenue.
A big-rig crossed over the center divide and collided with multiple vehicles, the L.A. County Fire Department said.
One person was deceased, two critical patients were transported, eight patients were transported — six of whom were minors — and 22 patients with minor injuries declined transport, the L.A. County Fire Department said.
Although lanes were closed due to the crash, the California Highway Patrol said on X, those lanes have since reopened.
