Deputy Stabbed, Attacker Shot And Killed By Authorities: LA Sheriff (patch.com) — Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies say a knife-wielding man attacked them at a Metrolink station in Lancaster, stabbing one deputy before being shot and later pronounced dead at a hospital. The injured deputy, who suffered non-life-threatening wounds, is expected to recover, while the California Department of Justice is investigating the fatal shooting under state law. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Massive Boyle Heights Warehouse Fire Sparks State Of Emergency: Mayor (patch.com) — Los Angeles residents are grappling with days of smoke and disruption as a massive warehouse fire in Boyle Heights prompts Mayor Karen Bass to declare a local emergency and open smoke relief centers. Firefighters continue battling the stubborn blaze at a cold-storage facility packed with hazardous materials, ammonia, solar panels, and decaying food, while air and water quality are being closely monitored across the city. Local officials promise ongoing support, health protections, and transparent information for affected neighborhoods.    

3. 1 Killed, 32 Injured, Including Children, In 'Mass Casualty Traffic Collision' On 210 Freeway: FD (patch.com) — Drivers in Los Angeles County faced tragedy on the 210 Freeway in Irwindale when a big-rig crossed the center divider and slammed into multiple vehicles, killing one person and injuring 32 others, including several children. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported multiple critical and minor injuries, while the California Highway Patrol later confirmed all freeway lanes had reopened.
