LOS ANGELES, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the 37th time in 38 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $5.413, its lowest amount since March 12.
The average price has dropped 75.3 cents over the past 38 days, including 1.4 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 27 consecutive days, was unchanged June 22 and resumed the following day.
The average price is 9.6 cents less than one week ago and 63.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 83.8 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 45th time in 46 days, decreasing 1.5 cents to $5.284, its lowest amount since March 8. It has fallen 89.2 cents over the past 46 days, including 1.7 cents Wednesday.
The Orange County average price dropped 42 consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday. It is 9.1 cents less than one week ago and 67.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 78 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price resumed dropping, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.838, its lowest amount since March 17, one day after a run of 39 decreases in 40 days totaling 71.7 cents ended when it was unchanged.
The national average price is 8 cents less than one week ago and 45.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 66.6 cents more than one year ago.
