Saturday is July 4 and LA has plenty of celebrations. Also there are new openings and events this month.
Some Like It Hot in 4K Screening with Pickle the Drag Queen
Join Pickle the Drag Queen for this screening of Some Like it Hot, featuring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. at the David Geffen Theatre. Thursday, July 2 at 7:30pm at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures David Geffen Theatre. Tickets are $5 at https://www.academymuseum.org.
4th of July Festivities
The 1 Hotel in West Hollywood will be hosting a Stars & Stripes BBQ on July 4 from 11am to 10pm at their 1 Kitchen and Juniper Lounge.Special dishes will include a Niman Ranch Waguy hot dog, double cheeseburger, and other dishes available at 1 Kitchen from 11am to 3pm and Juniper Lounge from 3pm to close. They are also hosting a special July 4 party with DJ Tay James at Harriet’s with cocktails, brunch dishes and more, 4pm to close.
The Valorian Hotel will be hosting a July 4 pool party from 1 to 7pm with specialty cocktails and music. Located at 8440 on Sunset.
Hotel Ziggy will be hosting a Black Pride Pool SOUL Party with house, soul, and R&B music from DJ Sedrick, 2pm to 7pm. Tickets are $18 and up, at Eventbrite.
The Beach Boys with special guest John Stamos will be at the Hollywood Bowl on

The Comedy Store Horribly Funny
Comedians Margaret Cho, Patton Oswalt, Whitney Cummings, Tiffany Haddish, Pauly Shore, Frankie, Quiñones, Melissa Villaseñor, Jessica Keenan, and Russell Peters will perform at the Comedy Store for Horribly Funny on July 5, 7:30pm in the Main Room.
Phantom of the Opera is now playing at the Pantages Theatre now through August 9. Shows are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm; Friday and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 1pm and 6:30pm. Tickets at https://www.broadwayinhollywood.com.

Corpse Flowers Bloom at The Huntington Library and Gardens

Just across from Mic Drop is SweetWater, a lesbian centered bar with strobe lighting and a patio overlooking Santa Monica Blvd.
Little Luck
Owners of The Nice Guy and Delilah are opening Little Luck, a Japanese dinner place where Boosty Bellow used to be. Located at 9229 W. Sunset Blvd.
Pawn Shop
Pawn Shop has opened on Melrose, located in an old pawn shop, which now has a 48-seat bar, luxury suites for groups and big screen TV’s. There is also fancy bar food including spicy fried chicken, caviar hot dogs and more.
Mitsi Opens Near Chinatown
Mitsi, a new bar located between Mission Junction and Chinatown, has opened and is offering a special bingsu dessert. The bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert made with condensed and whole milk and will be offered in strawberry and espresso flavors.
Ono Hawaiian BBQ Opens in DTLA
Ono Hawaiian BBQ has opening in DTLA offering plate lunches, family meals and mini meals including short ribs, pork, BBQ chicken and more.
