LOS ANGELES, CA — French fry enthusiasts from across Southern California are expected to gather Saturday at the Autry Museum of the American West for the inaugural Los Angeles French Fry Festival.
The event, organized by Bucket Listers and Street Food Cinema, will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday on the museum grounds in Griffith Park.
Organizers said the festival will feature food trucks and vendors serving a wide variety of fries, including shoestring, waffle, curly, crinkle- cut and sweet potato varieties, along with loaded fries, poutine and tornado potatoes.
Participating vendors are expected to include Fryday, Fry-licious, Frites Freak, Proudly Serving, Mr. Charlie's Vegan and College Boy Cheesesteaks.
In addition to food offerings, the event will include French fry eating contests, cooking demonstrations, retro games, a vintage flea market and blindfold taste-testing competitions focused on fries and dipping sauces, organizers said.
The festival will be divided into three admission sessions running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
General admission tickets begin at $27 for adults and $22 for children ages 3 to 12, while VIP tickets will be available for guests 21 and older and include expedited entry, fries and access to a designated area.
The Autry Museum of the American West is located at 4700 Western Heritage Way in Griffith Park.
