LOS ANGELES, CA — At least one home was burned in a brush fire that broke out on the side of the 2 Freeway in Eagle Rock Thursday afternoon.
The fire was first reported at around 2 p.m. near the Colorado Boulevard ramp onto the southbound 2 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
By 2:20 p.m. it had burned about an acre of brush, authorities said.
At that time, the fire was burning uphill toward Palmer Driven threatening homes.
One home on Palmer Drive caught fire. Crews stopped forward progress of the fire within an hour.
"Crews are currently working defensively on the hillside structure, with all occupants confirmed out of the home and safe," the LAFD said.
Video aired by KTLA showed the home engulfed in flames and smoke.
