LOS ANGELES, CA — A Los Angeles County man was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in prison for running a drug trafficking operation that prosecutors dubbed "DoorDash for drugs." Two people died from overdoses in connection to the same-day delivery operation, reportedly including a TikTok star.
Erick Oved Estrada, 37, — a.k.a. "Franco Sanchez" and "Eric Freddy Hook" — ran the operation out of his mansion in a gated Calabasas neighborhood, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Estrada pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court in October in two cases. In the first case, he pleaded to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances resulting in death, and in the second, he entered a plea to distribution of fentanyl resulting in death.
In addition to his 27-year prison sentence, Estrada was also ordered to pay a total of $43,145 in restitution to the families of the victims.
Several of Estrada's associates have also been prosecuted.
Arian Alani, 37, of Burbank was accused of distributing fentanyl-laced pills to the victim — identified in court documents as C.N. — who died of a fatal overdose in June 2022. The father of TikTok star Cooper Noriega confirmed that C.N. refers to his late 19-year-old son, TMZ reported.
A foundation associated with Noriega also identifies Estrada among "Cooper's killers."
Alani pleaded guilty to a count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and is awaiting sentencing.
Zoila Michelle Estrada, 39, of Calabasas, is Estrada's wife; she was accused of laundering the sale proceeds with her husband and using the money for expenses including a Lamborghini and a Land Rover, according to prosecutors.
She subsequently pleaded guilty to money laundering.
Gilberto Marquez, 34, is accused as being a lieutenant in the operation. He pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge and was sentenced in February to over five years behind bars.
Prosecutors accused Estrada of selling 25 pills to Alani, who sold some of the pills to C.N., who died of an overdose after taking them, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Noriega was found dead in a Burbank mall parking lot in June 2022.
His death came hours after he made a post to his then-1.7 million followers about how he believed he would die young. Noriega's account his grown in popularity since his death; it had 3.1 million followers as of 2023.
Alani confronted Estrada via text message two days after Noriega's death, writing "my boy just died yesterday" and that Estrada "shouldn't be selling [expletive] with fentanyl," according to prosecutors.
Another victim, a woman identified as S.M., died in 2023 as a result of taking a drug sourced from the delivery service.
