SANTA CLARITA, CA — A man is in custody for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend from a Santa Clarita home and leading deputies on a short vehicle pursuit with her in tow, authorities said Sunday.

The woman called authorities at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday to report that her ex-boyfriend was assaulting her at a residence in the area of Bouquet Canyon Road and Lenny Drive and forcing her into a vehicle, according to a watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Santa Clarita station.

The suspect was taken into custody and the woman suffered only minor injuries, according to the watch commander.

As of 9 a.m. Sunday, the suspect was still being "processed" and had yet to be booked, he said.
