VAN NUYS, CA — A collision between a California Highway Patrol SUV and a Honda sedan Monday in Van Nuys sent the SUV sliding into the wall of a building and sent both drivers to hospitals with complaints of pain.
The crash was reported at 2:57 a.m. at Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The circumstances of the crash were still under investigation and not ready for release, Garcia said.
Both the CHP officer and the man driving the Honda were taken by ambulances to hospitals with complaints of pain, he said.
Video from the scene showed the officer's SUV with damage to the right front and left side doors, having come to rest alongside a white building and the red Honda Accord with major front-end damage in the street.
