LOS ANGELES, CA — PopUp Bagels will open its second Los Angeles-area location Friday in Studio City, bringing its hot, whole bagels and rotating cream cheese flavors to Ventura Boulevard.
The new shop at 12184 Ventura Blvd. will hold a grand opening celebration from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, featuring a DJ, merchandise giveaways and a special collaboration with celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta.
For opening day, PopUp Bagels and Ta have created a limited-edition strawberry shortcake schmear that will be available exclusively at the Studio City location while supplies last.
Ta's team will also hand out strawberry lip balms and blushes to guests.
The Studio City shop follows PopUp Bagels' Brentwood opening and marks the brand's second location in the Los Angeles area. James Marzouk of Sweetzer Capital is leading the company's expansion across the region, according to the company.
"Opening in Brentwood showed us just how much LA residents love PopUp Bagels, and we've been blown away by the response," Marzouk told Patch in an email. "Studio City felt like the perfect place for our next shop. It's such a lively, tight-knit neighborhood, and we love the sense of community there."
Founded in Connecticut in 2020, PopUp Bagels has since expanded with locations across the country.
The company is known for serving whole bagels fresh from the oven. Customers are encouraged to eat them using the brand's "Grip, Rip and Dip" approach, tearing the bagels apart and dipping them into cream cheese.
