26,000 Counterfeit Items Seized In $10M LA County Bust

The counterfeit haul included phony Adidas and Nike goods, according to authorities.

ARCADIA, CA — Nearly 26,000 counterfeit streetwear items with an estimated retail value of $10 million were seized from an Arcadia warehouse last week, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies with the department's Community Partnership Bureau Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team, known as CAPE, and federal special agents served a search warrant Aug. 25 at a commercial warehouse in the 11600 block of Goldring Road.

The investigation began in early August after authorities received information about a shipment that had been intercepted and inspected at a port of entry, sheriff's officials said.

The shipment contained large quantities of counterfeit Adidas, Nike and other trademarked merchandise and was addressed to the Arcadia warehouse, according to the department.

Investigators seized about 25,898 counterfeit items during the search.

No arrests were made. Authorities said the owner of the business remains outstanding, and the investigation into the operation is ongoing.

The CAPE Team investigates the sale, manufacture and distribution of counterfeit and pirated goods throughout Los Angeles County. Deputies also work with patrol stations, detectives and other agencies to identify counterfeit merchandise and businesses suspected of selling it.

The team also monitors major events where counterfeit goods may be sold, including events connected to the 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Authorities warned that counterfeiting extends beyond clothing and accessories. Officials said products including laundry detergent, dog food and veterinary medicine have increasingly been counterfeited and could pose health and safety risks.

Over the past year, the CAPE Team has served about 25 search warrants throughout Los Angeles County and recovered roughly 200,000 counterfeit items valued at between $15 million and $25 million, according to the department.
