3 LA County Restaurants Named Among Best In America By New York Times

Three restaurants in Los Angeles County have been named to the 2026 Restaurant List.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three Los Angeles County restaurants have been named to the 2026 Restaurant List, the New York Times' elite compilation of the nation's 50 best restaurants.

A 16-person scouting team traveled across the country for the list, eating everywhere from small-town Wisconsin to downtown Manhattan. The critics made reservations, waited in lines and arrived unannounced, paying for their meals and accepting no freebies, according to the Times.

Of the six California restaurants included in this year's list, three are in LA County:

Yerord Mas Bakery and Deli — Glendale

"Yerord Mas may be a tiny, no-frills restaurant in a former doughnut shop, but Arthur Grigoryan takes his work here seriously, drawing dishes from Armenian home kitchens through time and across borders. His menu pulls flavors of the Armenian diaspora from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq and the former Soviet Union, showing how they all belong together in Los Angeles," the Times wrote.

Komal — Historic South Central

"The chef Fátima Juárez runs a small molino in South Los Angeles that's also one of the best places in the city to take in the finesse of great antojitos. The mill grinds a variety of heirloom Mexican corn into masa each day for a menu of generous, elegant dishes inspired by Mexico City and Oaxaca — fantastic tacos and quesadillas, chubby tlacoyos and hot plantain molotes," the Times wrote.

Jacaranda — Hollywood

"It shouldn't be, but it's rare for every dish in a 12-course tasting menu to be both completely distinct and totally delicious. Dinner at Jacaranda, which quietly and confidently contains a remarkable technical range, flows from one marvel to the next, giving you something different to delight in each time," the Times wrote.
