SANTA CLARITA - A brush fire burning northeast of Santa Clarita quickly scorched more than 800 acres and forced evacuations Saturday afternoon.
The Bouquet Fire was initially reported about 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 34800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road and was burning north in light to medium brush in the Angeles National Forest, according to reports from the scene compiled by Watch Duty. By 6:30 p.m., more than 840 acres had burned.

A wind shift was pushing the fire toward structures along Bouquet Canyon Road, prompting requests for structure protection, according to Watch Duty.
Authorities warned residents in mandatory evacuations zones to flee to safety and residents under evacuation warnings to be prepared to leave at a moment's notice.
Evacuation orders were in effect for zones LAC-E018, LAC-E030-B and LAC-E031, while evacuation warnings were in effect for zones LAC-E016, LAC- E017, LAC-E019, LAC-E020, LAC-E021, LAC-E029 and LAC-E030-A, according to the app.
Additional air tankers, two strike teams consisting of 10 wildland engines and four hand crews were requested to contain the blaze.
Incident commanders requested that Bouquet Canyon Road be closed at Spunky Canyon Road and Texas Canyon Road.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
