Officers responded to a radio call of a "loud party" and observed approximately 100 to 200 people at the location, according to police.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Detectives are still seeking the person who shot and killed two young people at a strip mall near Cal State Northridge this weekend, authorities said Sunday.

Officers responded to a radio call of a "loud party" and observed approximately 100 to 200 people at the location, according to a police statement.

"While officers were contacting the organizer and attempting to shut down the party, they heard several gunshots," police said. The officers searched the location and located the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have not been identified, but the LAPD said Sunday that they were an 18-year-old Black male and a 19-year-old Hispanic female.

Police are seeking one male suspect in connection with the shooting, but no further description was provided.

Video from the scene showed multiple minors being detained by police for questioning following the shooting and others evacuated by law enforcement personnel. Police appear to have responded to the second floor of the strip mall complex, where Ciel Nail Spa and the Artist Lounge businesses are located.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting was urged to call the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division at 818-374-9550, or during non-business or weekends, at 310-726-7700 or 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
